Growing

The flax I am growing is coming along well waiting for the blue flowers to arrive. My dye plants madder and weld are looking very strong and there are lots of seeds on the woad for self seeding.

The beautiful early morning meadow. Full of colour and nearly ready for haymaking.

Testing my natural dyeing skills resulted in lots of blue, not quite what I expected but I am very happy with it.

I have spent the day visiting artists in their studios during Warwickshire Open Studios. It is a great way to connect with other artists in the area and to get inspired to get on with my own creative journey.

If you are in the area check it out. It is a huge event across the whole county.

Are any of the plants that are growing in the garden fibrous enough to make my own yarn from? I will let you know.
